The ACA partnered with the National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership to create the Arizona Manufacturing Extension Partnership (Arizona MEP). With the mission to make every Arizona manufacturer the most successful business it can be, Arizona MEP is dedicated to providing business and technical services to manufacturers in the state. Manufacturing and business experts with decades of experience offer customized solutions and hands-on assistance to help manufacturers integrate into the Arizona ecosystem.
Arizona MEP helps implement effective solutions for the company’s short and long-term success in Arizona, through assistance with construction project management, staffing services, lean operations, safety programs, ISO 9000 certification and supply chain solutions.
Offers refundable income tax credits up to $20,000 per qualifying net new job to eligible manufacturing companies that invest in one or more qualifying facilities.
Provides up to $9,000 of income or premium tax credits over a three-year period for each net new job to the state and concurrent qualifying capital expenditures.
Job Training grants reimburse up to 75% of eligible training expenses for employers creating new jobs.
Accelerates depreciation to substantially reduce business personal property taxes.
The Institute of Automated Mobility (IAM) is a consortium to advance the safety, science and policy in the automated vehicle sector. Established in 2018 and managed by the Arizona Commerce Authority, IAM brings together the brightest minds at Arizona’s public universities, government leaders committed to embracing innovation, and global industries leaders to collaborate on state-of-the art research and testing in Arizona.
In the past year, IAM has developed its research and development roadmap and launched its first on-road project in the Phoenix area. At full build-out, IAM will consist of facilities designed for complex research and testing scenarios, with a simulation lab as well as technology-neutral physical infrastructure offering multiple route configurations, intersections, signage and traffic signals.
Provides income tax credits for increased R&D activities conducted in the state. Additional tax credits are available for R&D executed in collaboration with state universities.
Provides up to an 80 percent reduction in state real and personal property taxes for businesses located in a foreign trade zone or sub zone.
Provides property tax exemptions and Transaction Privilege Tax (sales tax) exemptions to qualifying projects located in an MRZ.
Provides manufacturers a means of mitigating infrastructure costs by allowing construction Transaction Privilege Tax (sales tax) dollars to be redirected toward public infrastructure costs.
